PTS Advance is supporting a global leader in smart building technology and automation in their search for a Solution Engineer to support their customers throughout the greater Los Angeles area. The Solution Engineer serves as a technical leader during pre-construction and early project phases, translating owner and project requirements into coordinated, constructible BAS design-assist solutions. This role partners closely with Engineers of Record, contractors, and internal delivery teams to identify risks early, resolve integration and constructability challenges, and deliver complete, compliant, and commissioning-ready engineering packages. This position is offered as a hybrid role, combining the flexibility of remote work with the benefits of in-person collaboration. Team members may be required to visit the local office and/or project worksites based on project requirements. BAS/HVAC
controls engineering and design-assist activities from pre-construction through project handoff. Work directly with Engineers of Record, contractors, and internal teams to develop practical, constructible solutions and resolve technical challenges early. Review plans, specifications, mechanical/electrical systems, and project requirements to identify scope gaps, conflicts, and integration risks. Develop and review BAS engineering deliverables, including control drawings, sequences of operation, point mapping, DDC panel layouts, network architecture, equipment schedules, and BOMs. Participate in customer, contractor, and internal project meetings, providing technical direction and helping drive key project decisions. Support project estimating, scope development, engineering proposals, and design reviews. Lead technical handoffs to project and field teams, ensuring designs are complete, accurate, and ready for installation and commissioning. Support complex projects across data centers, healthcare, education, pharmaceutical, high-rise, and other commercial environments Qualifications 5+ years of experience designing and engineering
BAS/HVAC
controls systems. Strong understanding of DDC controls, HVAC systems, BAS integration, sequences of operation, and commissioning. Experience working with construction documents, specifications, submittals, and engineering deliverables. Experience collaborating with EORs, contractors, mechanical engineers, and project teams. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify technical risks and develop practical solutions. Confident communicator who can explain technical concepts clearly and take ownership in customer-facing situations. Engineering, electronics, computer science, or related degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
INDW Pay:
$90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
