As a Mechanical Intern, you will learn about HVAC systems and collaborate with architects and other engineers to develop creative, energy-efficient buildings that provide aesthetics to their physical surroundings and utility to their occupants. In return, we'll help you meet your goals, respect your ideas, and foster your creativity, collaboration, and innovation. Your key dutiesEmbrace the latest technologies to improve performance and sustainabilityAssist performing detailed HVAC engineering building services design and calculationsTake part in the preparation of technical drawings, schedules, and reportsCollaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams and with senior engineersEnsure service and project work are carried out to an excellent standardYour skills and experienceCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering preferred; however, candidates pursuing related engineering degrees such as Civil, Environmental or Sanitary Engineering are encouraged to applyCoursework in mechanical/HVAC design, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and/or thermodynamicsFamiliarity with BIM modeling software, such as Revit and AutoCAD, a plusInternship experience at engineering related firm preferred, and proven interest in the built environmentAbility to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible mannerEagerness to learn and work as part of a multidisciplinary teamCandidates are encouraged to apply even if they don't meet all the requirementsWhat we offerHourly rate of $24 to $34 per hour depending on level of education and geographic locationHybrid working & summer hoursConnection to global network of experts on the forefront of industry initiativesAccess to wide ranging learning and development opportunitiesConnect with colleagues and build your network through our Employee Resource Groups, including the Young Employees Forum, Diversity & Inclusion Forum, Women's Network, Wellness Committee, and Black at Buro HappoldReady for something a little less ordinary?
