In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, and supporting various accounting functions that ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment, utilizing your expertise in corporate and governmental accounting, financial software, and payroll management. Your proactive approach and technical skills will help drive the organization's financial integrity and operational success. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze journal entries, ledger accounts, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing and vendor payments using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage. Support month-end and year-end closing activities by verifying account balances and preparing financial reports. Assist with internal controls compliance, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) procedures, ensuring adherence to company policies. Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform detailed account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities. Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data. Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions using systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro, ensuring timely processing of payroll and tax filings. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or pursuing certification is a plus. Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments. Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and technical accounting concepts. Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms. Familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or Paychex; experience with payroll processing is preferred. Ability to perform detailed data entry, account reconciliation, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping accurately. Excellent analytical skills combined with strong math proficiency; ability to interpret financial data effectively.
