Short Description Bowman has an opportunity for a Senior MEP Assessor to join our team remotely in the Mid Atlantic. Purpose The Senior MEP Assessor performs advanced mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) system inspections and condition assessments for commercial, institutional, and public facilities. This role evaluates system performance, code compliance, life-cycle condition, and operational efficiency to support capital planning, due diligence, and facility improvement initiatives. The position requires extensive travel (approximately 60%) and operates with a high degree of technical independence and professional judgment. Responsibilities Leadership and Direction Perform work under limited supervision, exercising independent judgment in interpreting codes, standards, and engineering best practices. Provide guidance on complex system evaluations, deficiency classifications. Support efforts by participating in client meetings and technical presentations as needed. At the Operational and Company Level Conduct comprehensive condition assessments of HVAC, electrical distribution, lighting, plumbing, fire protection, and building support systems. Evaluate system capacity, remaining useful life, deferred maintenance, and replacement costs. Interpret and apply applicable codes and standards (e.g., International Building Code, NEC, mechanical and plumbing codes). Prepare detailed assessment reports. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and facility stakeholders to validate findings and recommendations. Support due diligence efforts for property acquisitions, portfolio reviews, and asset management initiatives. Contribute to maintaining and enhancing client relationships through technical excellence and responsiveness. Do the Work Perform on-site inspections at client facilities, documenting deficiencies, risks, and performance concerns. Collect field data including measurements, equipment inventories, and photographic documentation. Analyze system functionality and maintenance practices. Identify code violations, safety hazards, and operational inefficiencies. Prepare clear, concise, and technically accurate written reports suitable for executive and technical audiences. Coordinate multi-site assessment schedules and travel logistics efficiently. Ensure compliance with company safety protocols during all site visits. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Facilities Management, or related field preferred. 5+ years of progressive experience in MEP inspection, facility condition assessment, commissioning, construction oversight, or building systems evaluation. Experience conducting multi-site or portfolio-level facility assessments preferred. Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or similar credential preferred but not required. Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical distribution systems, plumbing systems, and fire protection systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with assessment or asset management software preferred. Range $100,000 - $130,000 and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Physical Demands and Working Environment Approximately 60% travel to client sites, including regional and occasional national travel. Exposure to varying weather conditions during site visits. Frequent walking, standing, climbing ladders, and navigating mechanical spaces. Occasional lifting or carrying up to 30 pounds. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
