Back Sr. Piping Engineer Piping Engineer Plainfield , Illinois Permanent Sep 30, 2026 Title Senior Piping Engineer Location Hybrid - Plainfield, IL Project-site support may be required based on execution needs. Overview This role supports a global engineering and industrial solutions organization specializing in storage systems, terminals, asset management, and complex infrastructure projects. The Senior Piping Engineer leads piping design and stress-analysis activities across assigned project scopes, providing technical expertise from conceptual studies through engineering, fabrication, and construction while maintaining accountability for quality, schedule, cost, and constructability. Must-Have Domains Piping engineering, design, and stress analysis for complex industrial projects. Engineering execution across conceptual design, calculations, specifications, equipment interfaces, and construction support. Application of domestic and international piping codes and standards, including ASME, API, and ANSI requirements. Core Responsibilities Develop and verify piping engineering deliverables, including layouts, calculations, specifications, conceptual studies, and equipment-interface requirements in accordance with applicable codes and project standards. Perform and review piping stress analyses, ensuring piping systems and equipment interfaces meet technical, safety, constructability, and operational requirements. Check and approve engineering calculations, specifications, and related deliverables for customer approval and project execution. Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams to resolve technical issues, manage design changes, identify scope discrepancies, and support project decisions. Manage assigned engineering scope against cost, schedule, quantity, quality, and budget commitments while supporting continuous improvement of engineering tools and workflows. Must-Have Experience 10+ years of relevant piping engineering experience within industrial, energy, storage, process, or comparable engineered-project environments. Demonstrated experience performing piping design and stress analysis, including equipment interfaces, nozzle loads, design calculations, specifications, and constructability considerations. Experience applying relevant local and international engineering codes and standards, including ASME, API, and ANSI. Top 5 Must-Have Technical Skills

Education Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering from an accredited institution. Preferred Skills Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state. Experience with low-temperature and cryogenic process piping systems. Experience analyzing piping arrangements within space-constrained structures such as modules and platforms. Cross-functional engineering training, such as a Graduate Development Program or equivalent. Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical communication, and multidisciplinary coordination skills. Ability to review, approve, and, when appropriately licensed, stamp project engineering deliverables. Work Environment Works within a multidisciplinary project engineering environment supporting engineering, fabrication, and construction activities. May be temporarily assigned to project sites based on project requirements. Collaborates closely with engineering disciplines, project leadership, vendors, and construction stakeholders.
