Job Summary Our client is seeking a Mechanical HVAC / Plumbing Engineer to provide on-site design review support for a variety of buildings in the Federal market sector. This position is for a design engineer with a background in HVAC, piping, and plumbing design. Building types may include administration/office buildings, laboratories, server rooms, manufacturing, warehouses as well as maintenance facilities. The ideal candidate has leadership experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with experienced professionals. Job Description Ensuring project compliance with applicable codes and creating and maintaining project schedules for small to mid-size projects Review of HVAC and plumbing system deliverables (specifications, drawings, calculations, and basis of design documents) for new buildings, for accuracy, clarity, coordination, codes, and standards Actively coordinates with other disciplines, clients, and contractors Understands construction phase services (review of submittals, responses to RFI's) Able to present in front of large groups that include clients, peers, contractors, and end users Skills Required Minimum of 3 years of related work experience as a Mechanical Engineer Federal industry experience and familiarity with government requirements (i.e., UFCs, MIL-STDs, UFGS) Knowledge of building mechanical codes Strong HVAC / Plumbing design capability in industrial, commercial, central plants, boilers, chillers, and other related markets Knowledgeable in sustainable design Strong verbal and written communication skills Familiarity with the Unified Facilities Criteria Building Controls Systems Design /Building Automation Education/Training/Certifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from an accredited Additional Requirements Must be able to pass a criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search Security Clearance (SECRET) or ability to get one Must be US citizen GAS Energy Staffing LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
