Job Description
Engineering Technician Algas-SDI | Kent, WA | On-Site | Full-Time At Algas-SDI, we re global leaders in off-grid and backup clean energy systems. We re looking for a hands-on Engineering Technician to support engineers with prototype development, product testing, validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. If you enjoy building, testing, troubleshooting, and figuring out how things work , this role offers the opportunity to work directly in our lab and shop environment alongside Engineering and Manufacturing teams. What You ll Do Assist with developing and executing test plans, procedures, and validation activities. Assemble, modify, instrument, and test prototype equipment and components. Set up and troubleshoot test systems, instrumentation, and data acquisition equipment. Fabricate test fixtures, piping assemblies, brackets, panels, and prototype components. Collect, analyze, and document test data and communicate results to engineering teams. Assist with root cause investigations, failure analysis, and product troubleshooting. Support Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Service with product improvements and testing. Maintain laboratory equipment, tools, and facilities, including calibration and preventative maintenance. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized laboratory and shop environment. What You Bring Technical degree or equivalent relevant experience. 3+ years of relevant technical, engineering, laboratory, manufacturing, or testing experience. Experience with test equipment and data acquisition systems. Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and technical instructions. Experience with thermal, electrical, fluid, or pressurized systems. Hands-on mechanical assembly, fabrication, and instrumentation experience. Strong problem-solving, written communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality. Ability to obtain required safety certifications, including OSHA and lockout/tagout training. Physical Requirements This is a hands-on position in a manufacturing environment. The role requires the ability to use hand tools, lift up to 50 lbs. , and kneel, squat, bend, push, pull, and maneuver around equipment. The position may involve exposure to heat, noise, pressurized systems, and moving machinery.
