We are hiring a Senior Digital Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test advanced electronic equipment and digital hardware supporting defense, intelligence, and national security systems. This role requires 8+ years of relevant experience and expertise in multi-layer printed circuit board (PCB) design, schematic capture, FPGA and System-on-Chip (SoC) technologies, signal integrity, microprocessors, microcontrollers, radar and communications systems, and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) equipment.
This role supports complex electronic system development while providing technical leadership and mentoring to less experienced engineers. Experience with Mentor design tools, high-reliability or space electronics, Worst Case Analysis, and Stress Analysis is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Research, design, develop, and test electronic equipment, circuitry, and digital hardware systems.
Design and support radar detection, communications, computer, and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) equipment and systems.
Develop complex multi-layer printed circuit board (PCB) designs incorporating controlled impedance layers and blind micro-vias.
Analyze and test digital hardware for signal integrity, crosstalk, and related performance considerations.
Support designs incorporating microprocessors, microcontrollers, Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), and System-on-Chip (SoC) technologies.
Provide technical leadership, design direction, and mentoring to less experienced engineers and designers.
Develop innovative, integrated engineering solutions that address evolving customer and program requirements.
Monitor engineering technologies, industry trends, and best practices to support continuous improvement.
Identify opportunities to apply artificial intelligence (AI) to engineering processes, continuous improvement, and innovation.
Support applicable programs, projects, engineering practices, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics field.
8+ years of job-related experience; or a Master's degree plus 6+ years of job-related experience.
Experience with schematic capture and digital electronic design.
Extensive experience designing multi-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs) with controlled impedance layers and blind micro-vias.
Experience analyzing and testing digital hardware for signal integrity, crosstalk, and related performance considerations.
Familiarity with multiple families of microprocessors, microcontrollers, FPGAs, and System-on-Chip (SoC) technologies.
Ability to exercise independent technical judgment on engineering assignments.
Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring to less experienced engineers and designers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance at time of hire.
- Experience with Mentor design tools.
- High-reliability electronics or space systems experience.
- Experience performing Worst Case Analysis (WCA).
- Experience performing Stress Analysis.
