Job Description
Piper Companies is seeking an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer to join a leading telecommunications technology company onsite Monday - Friday in Morrisville, NC . The ideal Electrical Hardware Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, validating, and supporting PCB-based hardware platforms while working closely with embedded firmware teams to develop and troubleshoot carrier-grade products. Responsibilities of the
Electrical Hardware Design Engineer:
Design and develop PCB-based hardware solutions for telecommunications products. Create schematics, hardware documentation, and design specifications. Perform board bring-up, hardware validation, and debug activities. Troubleshoot complex board-level and system-level hardware issues. Collaborate closely with firmware engineers on hardware and software integration. Support prototype, production, and deployed hardware platforms. Utilize oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other lab equipment to validate designs. Participate in hardware architecture discussions and design reviews. Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for technical issues. Qualifications of theElectrical Hardware Design Engineer:
10+ years of electrical hardware design experience. Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance. Strong PCB design and board-level development experience. Experience with board bring-up, validation, and debugging. Knowledge of digital and analog circuit design. Understanding of hardware architecture and chip-level design concepts. Experience working with embedded processor-based systems. Familiarity with Linux and RTOS environments. Proficiency using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other test equipment. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related hardware-focused discipline. Compensation for the Electrical Hardware Design Engineer includes: Salary range: $115,000 - $145,000 annually based on experience Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO This job opens for applications on 09/02/2026.
