Analog Design Engineer
Job Description
Job Title:
Analog Design Engineer Job Description This role focuses on designing and developing advanced analog and mixed-signal building blocks for next-generation ASICs. You will use modern design and verification tools to create high-performance, manufacturable circuits and ensure robust end-to-end system performance. The position offers the opportunity to work on precision-engineered measurement solutions that help bring cutting-edge digital technologies to life within a collaborative, inclusive environment. Responsibilities Design and develop key analog and mixed-signal building blocks for next-generation ASICs using advanced design tools. Perform detailed circuit simulations to optimize performance, robustness, and manufacturability of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits. Conduct signal-level and system-level analysis beyond the ASIC to ensure end-to-end performance of the overall solution. Characterize analog and mixed-signal designs and/or develop comprehensive characterization plans to validate performance. Apply a strong foundation in analog and RF analysis prior to simulation to guide design decisions and improve design efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams to integrate analog and mixed-signal blocks into larger systems. Contribute to architectural and high-level design discussions by providing technical input and recommendations based on analysis and experience. Support lab characterization and correlation of silicon results with simulation data to refine models and improve future designs. Use modern ASIC design, verification, and electromagnetic (EM) modeling tools to evaluate high-frequency performance and layout impacts. Document design specifications, analysis results, and characterization methodologies to support reuse and knowledge sharing. Essential Skills Bachelor's or Master's degree (BSEE or MSEE) in Electrical Engineering. 5+ years of hands-on experience designing analog and/or mixed-signal integrated circuits such as amplifiers, PLLs, ADCs, and DACs. Proficiency with modern ASIC design and verification tools for analog and mixed-signal circuits. Strong foundation in analog and RF analysis prior to simulation, including understanding of noise, linearity, stability, and frequency response. Experience with layout of critical analog and RF cells, including high-frequency design considerations. Experience working with high-frequency designs and related analysis techniques. Experience using tools such as Ansys and Cadence EMX for EM-related aspects of analog and RF layout. Additional Skills & Qualifications Master's (MSEE) or PhD in Electrical Engineering. 10+ years of experience in analog and/or mixed-signal IC design. Experience designing, modeling, and optimizing phase-locked loop (PLL) architectures, including loop dynamics, phase noise, jitter performance, frequency synthesis, and mixed-signal implementation trade-offs. Experience characterizing analog and mixed-signal designs in the lab and correlating silicon results with simulation data. Experience designing and modeling high-frequency electronic components using 3D electromagnetic (EM) field solvers such as Ansys HFSS or Cadence EMX. Experience working effectively with remote, geographically distributed teams. Demonstrated ability to influence architectural and high-level design decisions. Interest in contributing to an inclusive, collaborative culture focused on innovation and continuous improvement. Work Environment The role operates in a hybrid work model, with at least three days per week in the office to support close collaboration and hands-on lab and design activities. You will work with advanced ASIC design, verification, and EM modeling tools, as well as precision measurement and characterization equipment for lab validation. The environment emphasizes innovation, teamwork, and inclusion, encouraging people to explore the boundaries of what is possible and to bring new digital technologies closer to reality. The culture focuses on creating a strong sense of belonging, supporting professional growth, and enabling teams to thrive while working on world-changing measurement and electronics solutions.
