Apply Now Eaton's Electrical, Protection, Control and Solutions (PCS) division is currently seeking a Designer III. This role will be located in Moon Township, PA and relocation assistance is available. Additionally, a hybrid work model (3 onsite/2 remote) is also available for this onsite role. Reporting to the Manager, as a member of the Protection Control & Solutions (PCS) Design Services Team, this role will lead the design and creation of printed circuit board layouts for solid state and hybrid circuit breakers using Altium. Generate the complete PCB assembly package, including fabrication drawings, assembly prints, and bills of materials, ensuring all documentation is complete and ready for production. Job Responsibilities A. Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to develop printed circuit board designs that meet functional, mechanical, thermal, safety, and manufacturability requirements. B. Create PCB layouts including component placement, routing, stack-up definition, and design rule implementation using Altium Designer. C. Generate and maintain complete PCB design documentation packages including fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, bills of materials, Gerber files, assembly data, and related technical documentation required for production. D. Review PCB designs for compliance with applicable electrical, safety, electromagnetic interference (EMI), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and IPC standards. E. Support design changes by revising PCB layouts and associated documentation in accordance with engineering change requests and product lifecycle requirements. F. Create, maintain, and validate schematic symbols, PCB footprints, 3D models, and component libraries used in PCB design tools. G. Evaluate designs for manufacturability, assembly, testing, reliability, and cost effectiveness; incorporate feedback from fabrication and assembly partners to improve product quality and manufacturing yield. H. Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to establish and improve PCB design standards, design rules, and best practices. I. Generate and maintain 3D models and mechanical interface data to support integration of circuit boards into breaker assemblies. J. Participate in design reviews and provide recommendations to improve product performance, reliability, manufacturability, and documentation quality. K. Coordinate with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors to resolve design and manufacturing issues. L. Maintain design files and revision control in accordance with engineering procedures. M. Support prototype builds and troubleshooting activities during product development. Basic Qualifications Associate's Degree in Electronic Design, Electronics Technology, Drafting, or a related technical discipline.
