Role:
Builders Hardware of South Carolina is looking for a skilled Hardware Installation Tech to join their team in West Columbia, SC. This is a hands-on role where you'll be at the heart of every project — bringing precision, craftsmanship, and reliability to every installation. Responsibilities:
Install commercial and residential door hardware including locks, hinges, closers, and exit devices Read and interpret blueprints, door schedules, and hardware specifications Perform on-site hardware installations at customer locations across the greater Columbia area Inspect and test installed hardware to ensure proper function and code compliance Troubleshoot and repair existing hardware systems as needed Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and customers to ensure timely completion Maintain tools, equipment, and job site cleanliness and safety standards
Requirements:
Prior experience in hardware installation, carpentry, or a related skilled trade preferred Familiarity with commercial door hardware, access control, or architectural hardware is a plus Ability to read and follow technical drawings and hardware schedules Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various physical environments Dependable, punctual, and professional with strong customer-facing communication skills
