Full Job Description Salary Range:
$57,400 - $85,000 per year
Position Overview:
The EHS Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations, conducting safety assessments, and facilitating training programs, among other critical tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
' Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal environmental health and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and industry standards. ' Conduct regular audits, inspections, and assessments to identify potential hazards and compliance gaps. Report findings and recommend corrective actions to management. ' Participate in comprehensive risk assessments to evaluate workplace hazards, including physical, chemical, and biological risks. ' Collaborate with the Environmental and Safety Manager to develop, implement, and monitor effective safety and environmental management strategies. ' Assist in the design and delivery of engaging training programs on EHS policies, procedures, and best practices for all employees. ' Provide ongoing guidance and support to staff regarding safety procedures, environmental issues, and emergency response protocols. ' Support the investigation of workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses. Collect and analyze data to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions. ' Maintain accurate records of all incidents and ensure timely reporting to relevant regulatory bodies. ' Maintain comprehensive documentation of safety training, incident reports, compliance inspections, and other relevant EHS data. ' Assist in preparing detailed reports for management review, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders, highlighting trends and areas for improvement. ' Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to recommend enhancements to existing EHS programs and initiatives. ' Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans, ensuring preparedness for environmental and safety incidents. Organize and facilitate emergency drills and training sessions to ensure staff readiness.
Basic Qualifications:
' Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Management. ' Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with EHS Data Management Platform ' Strong understanding of EHS management system standards, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory compliance. ' Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage and educate diverse audiences. ' Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization and organizational skills. ' Ability to work independently and in a team framework. ' Assume additional responsibilities as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
' Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment ' Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred but not required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Howmet Aerospace Inc. (
