Louisiana Position Summary The Engineer Technician is responsible for assisting in designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing processes, equipment, facilities, and technical systems to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations. This role supports production, quality, validation, facility expansion, equipment qualification, utilities, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with FDA Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), OSHA regulations, and applicable engineering standards. This position is well suited for an engineering student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in their third-year studies seeking practical experience in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or water treatment environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Engineering Projects Design and implement engineering solutions for manufacturing and facility operations. Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets. Coordinate equipment installations and upgrades. Support facility expansion and renovation projects. Manage engineering documentation and drawings. Assist with capital improvement projects. Process Improvement Evaluate manufacturing processes for efficiency. Recommend automation and process improvements. Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures. Improve production throughput and quality. Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Reduce downtime through engineering improvements. Equipment & Utilities Assist with installation, qualification, and commissioning of equipment. Develop preventive maintenance recommendations. Troubleshoot production equipment. Evaluate utility systems, including water purification, HVAC, compressed air, and process piping. Support calibration and validation activities. Quality & Regulatory Compliance Ensure engineering projects comply with FDA Current Good Manufacturing Practices (21 CFR Parts 210 & 211), when applicable. Support equipment

activities. Assist with validation protocols and reports. Participate in internal and external audits. Ensure engineering documentation complies with company SOPs and document control requirements. Follow lockout/tagout procedures Technical Support Provide engineering support to Production, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Maintenance, and Operations. Review technical drawings and specifications. Evaluate vendor proposals. Recommend new technologies and equipment. Develop engineering standards and best practices. Safety Ensure engineering activities comply with OSHA regulations. Participate in safety inspections. Conduct risk assessments. Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and machine safety programs. Promote a safe working environment. Documentation Prepare engineering reports. Develop equipment specifications. Maintain engineering drawings. Update process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). Write engineering procedures and work instructions. Maintain project records. Continuous Improvement Analyze production data and identify trends. Recommend cost-saving opportunities. Minimum Qualifications Third-year undergraduate engineering student enrolled in an accredited engineering program with strong academic standing and the ability to work in a technical engineering support role. Preferred Qualifications Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification. Experience in pharmaceutical or GMP manufacturing. Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Autodesk Inventor. Knowledge of FDA, cGMP, OSHA, and
ISO 9001.
