Sr. Fire Protection Designer Engineering Resource Group - 4.7 Reading, PA Job Details Full-time $110,000 - $140,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications BIM model coordination Construction document project phase Fire codes and regulations Plumbing building codes Revit Design engineering Building code analysis Fire design Building information modeling (BIM) tools 3D modeling for architectural design Piping diagrams drawing Facility inspection Consulting firm experience Full Job Description Description Permanent position for a Senior Plumbing and Fire Protection Designer supporting building and facilities projects across industrial, laboratory, pharmaceutical, healthcare, higher-education and commercial sectors. Develop plumbing and fire protection designs from field investigation and concept through construction documents. Design domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, storm drainage and natural gas systems. Lay out sprinkler and standpipe systems per applicable NFPA standards. Build and coordinate Revit models, drawings, details and schedules with architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical disciplines. Survey existing facilities, document existing conditions and recommend renovations and upgrades. Work with engineers on system sizing, calculations and equipment selection. Perform QC reviews of drawings and models for constructability, coordination and completeness. Support construction administration, including shop drawing and submittal review and RFI responses. Mentor junior designers and engineers. Requirements Minimum 10 years of experience in plumbing and fire protection design within an engineering consulting or A/E environment. Advanced proficiency with Revit, including coordinated construction document production. Proficiency with AutoCAD. Working knowledge of plumbing, building and fire protection codes, including NFPA 13 and NFPA 14. Experience performing field surveys and documenting existing building systems. Experience with fire protection hydraulic calculations and associated design software a plus. Experience mentoring junior staff a plus. #ERGx
