Job Description

Fire Protection Design Engineer Spectra Tech, Inc. United States, Tennessee, Oak Ridge 1006 Floyd Culler Court (Show on map) Mar 31, 2026 Engineer responsible for Fire Protection Design. Below job requirements/preferred requirements relate to job tasks required for this position.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Five or more years of progressive and relevant experience in Fire Sprinkler System Design.
  • Experience implementing programs and procedures to ensure employee and facility safety is in accordance with all OSHA, NFPA and Life Safety Code requirements.
  • Ability to plan, self-perform tasks and multi-task on multiple projects.
  • The position requires the ability to present information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word and utilize automated workflow systems.
  • Must be able to coordinate verification and validation of documents with technical and operations personnel prior to release for approval and implementation.
  • Ability to develop and maintain historical information.
  • Ability to prepare, interpret, maintain, and incorporate requirements of technical drawings and operating documents.
  • Ability to follow procedures and work within a rigorous work process.
Preferred Job Requirements:
  • A Professional Engineering License (PE).
  • Proficiency using hydraulic calculation software (HASS, etc).
  • DOE work experience.
