Job Description

Industrial Engineer Takt Engineering LLC Costa Mesa, CA Job Details Contract $70 - $100 an hour 3 hours ago Qualifications Project reporting Mechanical blueprint interpretation Dashboard development Defect resolution root cause analysis Defect analysis Interpreting technical drawings ERP systems SQL Bachelor's degree Production planning Industrial engineering Root cause analysis Microsoft Project Production scheduling Excel data analysis Full Job Description About the Role Takt Engineering is hiring an Industrial Engineer for a client in advanced manufacturing. You own the integrated schedule model and keep it current as demand and capacity change. Day to day, you decide what the floor builds next. The environment is low volume, high mix, engineered to order. Work sequences against finite capacity, not a fixed rate. Routings, priorities, and material availability shift constantly and the schedule has to keep up. Job Responsibilities Build and maintain the integrated schedule model across programs, resources, and work centers. Work changes to routings, capacity, and priorities into the model as they come in. Sequence and prioritize jobs against finite capacity constraints. Decide what gets worked based on what material is actually on hand, who is qualified to run it, and what is held up in nonconformance. Spot conflicts, infeasible sequences, and capacity shortfalls, and say what caused them. Take constraints to the owner in supply chain, manufacturing engineering, or quality and stay on it until it clears. Track schedule adherence, report variance, and fold what you learn back into the plan. Resequence work within authorized limits as conditions change. Record decisions and open items in the shift handoff. Required Qualifications Four or more years in industrial engineering, production scheduling, or manufacturing operations. Critical chain, theory of constraints, or buffer management experience. You have run a schedule through material shortages and labor gaps without losing the build. Low volume, high mix, or engineered-to-order environment. ERP or scheduling system experience. Oracle preferred. Able to read and work from routings, bills of material, work instructions, and drawings. Two or more years scheduling in MS Project, Primavera P6, or a comparable scheduling tool. Working Excel. Pivot tables, lookups, and clear schedule reporting. Able to run root cause on a slipped schedule and put a corrective action in place that holds. Must be available for all shifts, extended hours, and weekends as needed. Preferred Qualifications Finite capacity or constraint-based scheduling in any tool, including Aurora, Open Plan, Preactor, Asprova, or a finite capacity module within SAP or Oracle. Scheduling large, complex assemblies or heavy fabrication, including staged construction and final assembly sequencing. Experience standing up a new production line or facility. Experience through a scheduling system migration or implementation. SQL for pulling production and material data yourself. Dashboard or recurring reporting work in Power BI, Tableau, or similar. Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or a related field.
