You own the critical chain production model that the build runs on, and you are the senior scheduling voice on shift. When scheduling or production control has a gap, you fill it. The environment is low volume, high mix, engineered to order. Work sequences against finite capacity, not a fixed rate. Routings, priorities, and material availability shift constantly and the model has to keep up. Job Responsibilities Build the production model: precedence networks, resource definitions, durations, and constraints. Keep the model matched to how work actually runs. Frequent changes get integrated, not deferred. Size and manage buffers. Track consumption, call recovery early, and show the trend to leadership. Resequence work within authorized limits as conditions change. Flex to cover scheduling and production control gaps, including running the schedule or releasing work when someone is out. Validate the model against what the floor actually did, and correct the assumptions that were wrong. Set the standard others schedule to: naming conventions, resource definitions, and how changes get made. Record decisions and open items in the shift handoff. Required Qualifications Seven or more years in industrial engineering, production scheduling, or manufacturing operations. Critical chain, theory of constraints, or buffer management experience, including sizing and managing buffers on a live build. You have built a production model, not just worked inside one someone else built. Low volume, high mix, or engineered-to-order environment. Comfortable operating without direct supervision and making calls within defined limits. ERP or scheduling system experience. Oracle preferred. Able to read and work from routings, bills of material, work instructions, and drawings. Working Excel. Pivot tables, lookups, and clear schedule reporting. Able to run root cause on a slipped schedule and put a corrective action in place that holds. Able to hold a position with engineering and program leadership when the schedule says no. Must be available for all shifts, extended hours, and weekends as needed. Preferred Qualifications Aurora scheduling system experience. Finite capacity or constraint-based scheduling in another tool, including Open Plan, Preactor, Asprova, or a finite capacity module within SAP or Oracle. Scheduling large, complex assemblies or heavy fabrication, including staged construction and final assembly sequencing. Experience standing up a new production line or facility. Experience through a scheduling system migration or implementation. Discrete event simulation in FlexSim, Simio, AnyLogic, or Arena. SQL or Python for pulling and analyzing production data yourself. Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or a related field. Trade, apprenticeship, or military planning experience is equally qualifying.
