Job Description
PROCESS ENGINEER
- Sanford, Maine
- Manufacturing
- Full-Time/Direct Hire We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Sanford, Maine.
Responsibilities:
Lead continuous improvement projects focused on productivity, quality, yield, cost reduction, and cycle-time improvements Develop and maintain detailed work instructions, standard operating procedures, and visual work aids Analyze manufacturing processes and conduct time studies to improve efficiency and support cost analysis Implement Lean Manufacturing tools including Value Stream Mapping, 5S, SMED, TPM, and waste elimination initiatives Design and optimize manufacturing cells to improve responsiveness and reduce setup times Support equipment selection, installation, startup, and process validation activities Maintain production data, routings, and Bills of Operations Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Safety, and Production teams to improve performance and ensure compliance Train supervisors and team leaders on new processes, products, and process modifications Participate in preventive maintenance planning and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities Drive a safety-first culture while supporting behavior-based safety initiativesDesired Background/Skills:
Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Strong communication and collaboration abilities Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently Value Stream Mapping 5S, SMED, TPM, and Kaizen methodologies Process validation and equipment qualification Manufacturing cost analysis and time studies Production routing and workflow optimizationOther Information:
