Job Description:
This is an exciting opportunity for a well-rounded engineer to join a small team supporting a recently acquired medical device startup. As an Industrial Engineer, you will support the development, validation, and scale-up of manufacturing processes for our innovative surgical device — directly contributing to product quality, efficiency, and patient outcomes. In all actions, the Industrial Engineer will demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and all other documented processes and procedures.
Education and Experience:
5+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing industrial engineering; understand manufacturing metrics and continuous improvement tools (e.g., lean, DMAIC); have hands-on experience scaling products from prototype to production is a benefit; skilled in fixture/tooling design and implementation. Strong CAD and problem-solving skills, Familiarity with regulated medical device environments, Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, self-starter with proven ability to successfully work with minimal supervision, good teamwork and interpersonal skills, good written and verbal communication, ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet project deadlines with high attention to detail, SolidWorks proficiency desired, familiarity with 5S and DMADV
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds Must be able to wear cleanroom clothing and work in a cleanroom environment as needed
Job Responsibilities:
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve operational performance using Lean manufacturing principles. Analyze and optimize manufacturing workflows, labor utilization, and line balancing to maximize throughput and resource efficiency. Develop and implement capacity models, production strategies, and staffing plans to support customer demand and business growth. Drive cost reduction initiatives through cycle-time improvements, standardized work, and enhanced process efficiency. Establish and monitor key manufacturing performance metrics, identifying trends and opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Conduct time studies, value stream mapping, and process analyses to identify bottlenecks and improve material and information flow. Lead structured problem-solving and root cause analysis efforts to eliminate production constraints and improve operational stability. Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and R D to improve manufacturability, scalability, and overall value stream performance. Support process validation, change management, and continuous improvement activities to ensure compliant and sustainable manufacturing operations. Manage strategic operational improvement projects from concept through implementation, delivering measurable gains in productivity, efficiency, and cost performance. #TB_OTH ​#ZR Why TalentBurst?
