Job Title:
Supplier Quality EngineerJob Description We are seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to perform quality control functions at suppliers' facilities and ensure compliance with contractual quality requirements. This role requires a strong ability to provide technical assistance, conduct quality audits, and initiate corrective actions to maintain the highest standards of quality and reliability. Responsibilities + Perform Quality Control functions at supplier's facilities, including source inspection and testing of products as specified by contracts and associated documentation. + Develop and control test and inspection instructions to ensure compliance with quality requirements. + Provide technical assistance to Incoming Inspection, suppliers, and other departments to prevent fabrication, test, and inspection issues. + Assist in the preparation of workmanship standards and initiate product design changes to enhance quality and manufacturing processes. + Conduct quality audits to determine the effectiveness of the Quality Program and report results with conclusions and suggested actions. + Prepare and initiate Corrective Action Requests for non-compliances and ensure their satisfactory closure. + Perform failure analyses on returned products and initiate corrective actions to prevent future issues. + Oversee sample, special, and qualification tests, and assist in failure analysis during product returns and environmental failures. + Prepare reports on procured product quality and respond to customer inquiries regarding Quality Assurance. + Apply quality management system methodologies and participate in New Product Introduction stages. + Disposition suspect/nonconforming material and provide First Article Inspection work direction. + Train and guide lower-level Quality Assurance Engineers. Essential Skills + Proficiency in First Pass Yield, AS9102, ISO 9001, Root Cause Analysis, PPAP, Audit, CAPA, PCB, and PCB assembly. + Bachelor's degree in engineering is required. + Minimum of 1 year experience as a Quality Engineer with PCB experience. + Experience in root cause, corrective action, and CAPA processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Strong organizational and prioritization skills. + Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. + Ability to work independently or in teams and support a 24/7 global business operation. + Experience in electronics manufacturing is preferred. + Familiarity with advanced technologies and applications; ASQ certification is a plus. + Ability to train and mentor new development employees. + 4-year Engineering or Technical degree preferred or equivalent education and experience. Work Environment This position requires daily onsite presence with up to 10% local travel. The role supports a dynamic and growing company that values a good work-life balance. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $52.00/hr.
