Middle School Science Teacher Job Description Rochester Arts & Sciences Academy (RASA) is seeking a passionate, flexible, and student-centered Middle School Science Teacher to join our growing school community. Teachers work closely together to support students academically, socially, and emotionally while helping foster independence, confidence, and a love of learning. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging middle school science instruction aligned with curriculum standards Create hands-on, inquiry-based, and project-based learning experiences Foster curiosity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues Help support and grow the middle school program and culture Be flexible and open to helping in different areas as school needs evolve Differentiate instruction to support a variety of learners Assess student progress and provide timely feedback Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment Collaborate closely with colleagues and administration Participate in school events, conferences, meetings, field trips, and professional development opportunities Communicate regularly and professionally with families Support students' social-emotional growth and development Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, or related field Valid teaching license or ability to obtain licensure Strong communication and collaboration skills Passion for working with middle school students Ability to create engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences Flexible mindset and willingness to grow with a developing program Experience with inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, or IB philosophy preferred but not required Preferred Qualities Positive attitude and growth mindset Flexible and adaptable team player Passion for helping build and grow a strong middle school community Strong relationship-building skills Organized, proactive, and collaborative Enthusiasm for hands-on and engaging science instruction About RASA Rochester Arts & Sciences Academy is a private secular IB PYP school serving Preschool through 8th grade in Rochester, Minnesota.
