full-time What You'll Do (Job Summary): Support the Sales Department by generating work instructions for the Production Team. This work is done in part by using various software programs including Solidworks, AutoCAD, Sigmanest, and Epicor to create production drawings. This position will work closely with our Engineering Manager and Senior Engineers who will help develop and advance your skills. Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Responsibilities) Create production instructions & job using Epicor ERP/MRP system containing Bill of Materials. Create final production drawings for operations using Solidworks and/or AutoCAD. Completed Method of Operations (MOO's) to include operational estimates for Company to calculate & review Efficiency metrics (Quote vs. Actual) Create Nesting programs using plate nesting software (Sigmanest & Pronest). Write CNC programs for vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. Provide production processing instructions for vendor purchase orders and any essential additional information Able to create/or ability to learn aspects of manual drafting and reverse engineer (measure and design) physical products to translate into Solidworks and/or AutoCAD models for quoting and possibly production Provide assistance in creating cost estimates for the Sales Team to finalize formal quotations Provide technical and/or vendor support to production as required Develop new and existing relationships with vendors for required services for the Company Communicate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with Vendors regarding quotes and/or jobs Prepare, Request, and receive quotations from vendors based on quote/job requirements Create Vendor purchase orders Support Sales Department with on-site Technical & Engineering support as/if required Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and ab ilities required) High School Diploma/GED AutoCAD background Solidworks 3-D Modeling background Mechanical Aptitude Positive Work Ethic & Culture Organizational skills Moderate to advanced math skills required Excellent verbal, written & communication skills required What'll Make You Special (Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities) Associates Degree in Engineering or Engineering background/equivalent experience in Engineering environment Bachelor's Degree in Engineering CNC programming capabilities or experience Background in Steel/Steel Fabrication is a plus Experience or previous exposure to manufacturing methods & procedures Knowledge or experience in CNC programming software (i.e. Mastercam, SurfCam, etc.) The ability to identify problem & SOLVE Ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment and take pride in work Cooperative with co-workers & management to accomplish objectives of Dept. and Company Punctuality and attendance is a requirement Good attitude, always acting in the best interest of Company at all times Ability Accept constructive criticism to better themselves and their skill set Fast and eager learner Characteristics of our Engineering Tech/CAD Drafter (Competencies) Timely Committed Problem Solver Growth Mindset Physical Demands and Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Travel This position requires very rare travel but up to 5% is possible in unique instances
