This individual will be responsible for plant and production-floor layouts, process flow optimization, and the planning and installation of complex manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can independently manage projects from planning through installation while collaborating effectively with manufacturing, facilities, quality, maintenance, and operations teams. Responsibilities Develop and optimize plant, production floor, and equipment layouts to improve manufacturing flow, safety, efficiency, and utilization of available space. Create and maintain process maps, process flow diagrams, flow-down charts, and manufacturing layouts . Plan, coordinate, and manage the installation, relocation, and commissioning of manufacturing equipment. Support installation and integration of equipment such as 5-axis CNC machines, CMMs, paint equipment, sand blast stations, zinc phosphate systems , and other manufacturing machinery. Coordinate equipment installation activities with facilities, maintenance, production, vendors, contractors, and engineering teams. Evaluate manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve workflow, equipment placement, throughput, and overall operational efficiency. Support facility modifications and infrastructure requirements associated with new equipment installations. Ensure manufacturing layouts and equipment installations align with applicable aerospace/defense requirements, safety standards, and facility requirements. Manage multiple engineering projects and priorities with limited supervision. Provide hands-on engineering support during equipment installation, startup, commissioning, and production transition. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year accredited program required. 5-7+ years of Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or closely related experience. Strong experience working within aerospace, defense, or similarly complex manufacturing facilities . Demonstrated experience developing plant layouts, floor layouts, equipment layouts, and/or manufacturing process flows . Experience managing or supporting the installation and commissioning of CNC machines and other industrial manufacturing equipment . Experience with process mapping, flow charts, manufacturing workflow, and production optimization . Ability to manage projects independently and take ownership from planning through implementation. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a larger engineering and manufacturing team. Ability to work in a hands-on manufacturing/production environment. Must be available to start immediately or with minimal notice.
