Austin, TX:
Responsible for the development of new plastic injection tooling projects to meet a wide range of product performance and cosmetic requirements. Refine the design for manufacturing process by collaborating with supply management, product design, industrial design, and manufacturing engineering groups on material selection, design feasibility, and aesthetics of new plastic part and tooling designs. Research and identify new materials, manufacturing technologies, and finish options. Inform estimations of prototype and production manufacturing costs - tooling, secondary assembly, secondary finishing, and piece part. Establish, maintain, and ensure compliance to process Control Plan per PFMEA. Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience. Must have 2 years of experience in leading root cause analysis and driving corrective action; Must have 2 years of experience in participating in the development and maintenance of FMEAs and Control Plans; Must have 2 years of experience in commissioning and improving equipment; Must have 2 years of experience in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement, and Predictive Maintenance activities; Must have 2 years of experience in developing and improving process documents for new and existing processes, including Standard Operating Procedures, or Manufacturing Instructions; Must have 2 years of experience in managing and controlling process changes; and Must have 2 years of experience in utilizing structured problem-solving techniques: DMAIC, Ishikawa, Five Why (5W), or Eight Disciplines (8D). Requires domestic travel up to 30%, and international travel up to 10% to perform Equipment or Mold Trials with Suppliers. To Apply, email your resume to apply@tesla.
