Position Summary The Production Engineer is responsible for day-to-day engineering operations at the factory, ensuring smooth production and addressing issues as they arise with a cross functional team. This role is an expert in all shop floor machines, operational systems and processes. This role is critical in driving continuous improvement and supporting production teams with technical expertise. In addition, this position will serve as a backup to the Plant Manager, providing leadership and oversight to maintain operational continuity when required. Essential Functions Understand and be able to operate in all operational programs, including Global Shop, SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, and other CAD related milling programs such as G-code, Bobwire, ProForm, etc. Maintain routers and Work Orders and prints in the facility Develop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures Assist withECR/ ECN
process at the factory and communicate progress of these to cross functional teamEstimating/Quoting:
Participate and approve estimates and quotes for new projects based on client requirements and specifications. Analyze project costs, resources, and timelines to ensure competitive and profitable bidding Support red line projects, including documentation updates, drawing revisions, and implementation of engineering changes Assist with CAP projects. Document, monitor and report on the progress of Corrective Action Plans Maintain factory and product compliance with third party inspections and audits Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for tooling, materials, and process changes Be expert user of all shop floor machines, including Frog Mills, and Production machines. Be able to train, troubleshoot and complete complex operations on these machines Must train and assist assembly related teams and bridge communication between them and the engineering team Support new product introductions and ensure manufacturability of designs Support lean manufacturing initiatives and 5S implementation Maintain accurate records of engineering activities and project status Work directly with the Quality Control department to investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives Support plant layout and operational changesRequirements:
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) Experience with ERP systems is preferred Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to manage confidential information with discretion Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office software Must be able to work onsite Personal Attributes Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks Positive, professional, and approachable demeanor Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexibility and adaptability in a changing work environment Dependable and trustworthy, with a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality Physical Demands Sit and/or stand for long periods of time Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 75lbs.
