The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys hands-on problem solving, ca interpret engineering drawings and fabrication documentation, and is comfortable working with prototype hardware in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Build engineering prototypes from mechanical assembly drawings. Perform functional and mechanical testing of prototype Assist with problem solving, failure investigation, and root cause analysis. Document prototype build issues, test results, failures, corrective actions. Work with machine shops, suppliers to resolve assembly issues. Qualifications Associate degree, technical diploma or vocational training in manufacturing technology Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability Must be hands-on. Machine shop experience is a plus Experience in hand tools, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, torque tools Ability to communicate clearly technical problems Ability to work independently from drawings and instructions Key Competencies Hands-on mechanical aptitude: Experience with vacuum systems, pneumatics. Strong ability to assemble and troubleshoot mechanical hardware Problem solving: Able to perform testing, investigate problems, identify potential causes Drawing interpretation: Comfortable reading fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and mechanical specifications Prototype mindset: Comfortable working with early-stage designs where procedures may not yet be fully defined and engineering changes are frequent Attention to detail: Capable of working with precision components and recognizing subtle assembly issues.
