Job Overview Professional Search Group OC is seeking a dynamic and innovative Manufacturing Engineer to join our team and drive excellence in our manufacturing processes. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing systems to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency. Your expertise will support the continuous improvement of our production facilities, ensuring that manufacturing operations meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead cross-functional projects, implement cutting-edge automation solutions, and contribute to the advancement of manufacturing technologies in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Manage manufacturing engineering projects from planning through execution, with particular emphasis on relocating established production methods and technical know-how between global manufacturing sites. Oversee the introduction and refinement of specialized glass-processing, sensor-production, and assembly methods, with accountability for achieving expected quality, throughput, and yield performance. Use manufacturing metrics and statistical analysis to identify process variation, determine improvement opportunities, and implement corrective or optimization activities. Provide engineering support for new product launches as well as ongoing production, including creation and maintenance of product structures, manufacturing routings, and related system data. Investigate manufacturing equipment and emerging process technologies, compare supplier solutions, and recommend equipment and facility layouts that support efficient production. Establish and maintain manufacturing documentation, including process specifications, operating procedures, and instructions used by production personnel. Develop tooling, fixtures, workstations, and other production aids using CAD tools, with an emphasis on productivity, ergonomics, repeatability, and operator safety. Prepare production teams for new or modified processes through hands-on instruction, technical guidance, and effective transfer of process knowledge. Review operational and manufacturing data to identify trends, troubleshoot performance issues, and present recommendations to technical and business stakeholders. Partner with manufacturing leadership and cross-functional groups on production transfers, process enhancements, product support, and manufacturing-data requirements. Coordinate with engineering and technical resources in other regions to ensure manufacturing requirements, documentation, and process practices remain aligned. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline. Five or more years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably involving process development, manufacturing transfers, technical project execution, and increasing levels of responsibility. Experience managing engineering projects involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, schedules, and technical deliverables. Practical experience with glass processing, precision manufacturing, sensor production, specialized assembly, or comparable manufacturing technologies is strongly preferred. Familiarity with electrochemical measurement, analytical instrumentation, or related sensing technologies would be beneficial. Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, statistical process control, and structured continuous-improvement techniques. Experience working with enterprise manufacturing systems, including ERP and/or manufacturing execution platforms. Ability to use CAD applications for manufacturing-related designs such as tooling, fixtures, workstations, and production layouts. Strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities, with the ability to translate manufacturing data into practical process improvements. Proven ability to independently manage several technical initiatives while meeting deadlines in a dynamic production environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including experience collaborating across departments, cultures, and geographic locations. Comfortable taking ownership of loosely defined technical challenges and quickly developing an understanding of unfamiliar products and processes. Formal project-management training or professional certification is beneficial but not required. Availability for periodic international travel as business needs require.
