Working cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations leadership, this role drives manufacturability, statistical process control, equipment capability, process capability, production readiness, cost reduction, and continuous improvement. This role may lead improvement efforts involving welders, laser scribes, automated production equipment, custom fixtures, test systems, and other complex manufacturing machines. Success in this position requires strong technical judgment, hands-on manufacturing experience, leadership in solving complex production challenges, and the ability to build robust systems for a growing manufacturing environment. Duties and Responsibilities Lead the design, implementation, validation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, production layouts, and work instructions. Serve as a technical owner for assigned production areas, providing hands-on support for process troubleshooting, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and production readiness. Drive new product introduction and design-for-manufacturing activities by partnering with Product Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams from prototype through production release. Develop and improve manufacturing metrics related to statistical process control, yield, cycle time, labor efficiency, throughput, capacity, cost, equipment utilization, process capability, and production readiness. Lead cross-functional projects to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and scalability across manufacturing operations. Evaluate production constraints, equipment needs, staffing assumptions, material flow, and process bottlenecks to support capacity planning and manufacturing strategy. Create, review, and maintain manufacturing documentation, including routings, bills of materials, assembly procedures, test procedures, process validation plans, and engineering change implementation plans. Mentor junior engineers, technicians, and production team members on manufacturing best practices, problem-solving methods, process controls, and continuous improvement tools. Stay informed on manufacturing technologies, industry best practices, automation opportunities, and process improvement methods relevant to Source's business needs. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field. 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, production engineering, or a related technical role in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production systems, quality systems, statistical process control, process capability, equipment capability, process controls, and engineering change management. Demonstrated ability to lead complex problem-solving efforts using data, structured root cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. Experience supporting new product introduction, production scale-up, manufacturability reviews, process validation, and production documentation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and Management. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing needs and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Desired Skills or Experience 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or process engineering within electro-mechanical assembly, battery systems, power electronics, energy storage, welding, laser scribing, automated equipment, aerospace, automotive, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments. Experience developing scalable production processes for low-volume/high-mix and/or rapidly growing manufacturing operations. Familiarity with CAD tools, ERP/MRP systems, manufacturing execution systems, product lifecycle management systems, and data analysis/reporting tools. Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, value stream mapping, Six Sigma, statistical process control, process capability analysis, design of experiments, PFMEA, control plans, and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience specifying, implementing, or improving manufacturing equipment, automation, tooling, fixtures, test systems, welders, laser scribes, and other complex manufacturing machines. Experience mentoring engineers, technicians, or production personnel in a technical manufacturing environment.
Pay:
$115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
