Design Engineer Hubbell Electric Heater Co - 4.0 Stratford, CT Job Details 21 hours ago Qualifications Computer operation Trigonometry Microsoft Excel Microsoft Outlook Visio Shop math Solid modeling technique Microsoft Project Full Job Description Summary Responsible for working with Sales for quoting and Engineering for job processing to develop, design, model, and cost mechanical and electromechanical products and systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Create solid models and technical drawings for quoting and/or fabrication of various Company products using CAD software (SolidWorks). Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and reports. Apply knowledge of appropriate design practices to aid in evaluation of customer proposals and specifications to determine feasibility of design and/or application, and cost. Specify components to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. Research and provide detailed specifications for Purchasing to quote and/or procure materials or components required for the fabrication of the product. Aid in the design and development of technical documents and manuals to satisfy Company and customer requirements. Provide engineering guidance to Sales and Technical Support staff as required. Design and create electrical schematics. Use computer assisted engineering / design software and equipment to perform design tasks. Interact with and provide telephone support for customers and field technicians to facilitate troubleshooting and repair of equipment. Prepares and maintains computerized bill of materials for production items. Estimate labor times for manufacturing. Prepare cost estimates. Interfaces with customer to develop and/or modify product designs to meet customer requirements. Produces and prepares work orders for distribution to the production supervisor. Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to customer orders. Plans sequence of fabrication, assembly and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers. Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
