Job Description
Position Overview An industry leader in designing and manufacturing is looking for an experienced Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical systems for HVAC equipment, refrigeration systems, liquid transfer pump packages, and trailer-mounted equipment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who enjoys taking products from concept through production while collaborating closely with manufacturing to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and improve mechanical systems and components for HVAC, refrigeration, and liquid transfer pump equipment. Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering change documentation, and product releases. Design piping systems, structural assemblies, and trailer-mounted equipment. Partner with manufacturing to troubleshoot production issues and implement design improvements. Conduct design verification testing and validate product performance. Support proto@type builds, testing, and product launches. Identify opportunities for product improvement, cost reduction, and value engineering (VAVE). Ensure designs meet applicable engineering standards, quality requirements, and customer expectations. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. 5+ years of mechanical product design experience. Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, fluid handling, pump systems, and piping design. Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D CAD. Experience creating detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Experience designing trailer-mounted or mobile equipment. Experience with Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE). Knowledge of design verification and product testing. Experience supporting products from concept through production.
