Job Description
We are working with a client company in the Urbana-Champaign, IL area seeking a CNC Machinists/Set-up Operator for 2nd shift. Ideal Background 3-10+ years of CNC machining experience (mills, lathes, 5-axis) Comfortable with setup and operation, not just button-pushing Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and tight tolerances Experience making offsets and basic program edits (Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, etc.) Strong knowledge of tooling selection and cutting parameters Experience with first article inspections and in-process quality checks Technical Skillset Micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges Understanding of feeds & speeds, materials (steel, aluminum, stainless) Fixture setup and part changeovers Preventative machine maintenance basics Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement exposure (nice to have) Production Environment Traits High attention to detail and quality mindset Ability to run multiple machines (if applicable) Consistent attendance and reliability Team-oriented but able to work independently Comfortable in a fast-paced job shop or medium-volume production environment Bonus Experience (Often Valuable) CAD/CAM exposure (Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.) Multi-axis machining (4th/5th axis) Proto@type + short-run experience Troubleshooting scrap and improving cycle times For more information or to apply directly, contact Alana at alana.seddon@gogpac.com
