Primary Purpose of Role The primary purpose of the Manufacturing Engineer is to plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes in the plant by developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods through knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Key Responsibilities Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods and process planning. Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results. Designs, develops and test and/ or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery, and equipment for recommend manufacturing methods. Performs products/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency. Represents manufacturing on cross-functional teams. Monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements as well as by collecting and interpreting data from other technical and operating personnel. Qualifications and Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or related field required (preferably in sheet metal fabrication of high nickel based alloys for the aerospace market). Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques preferred. College degree in related field preferred.
