Job Description

Rolls Royce Motor Cars seeks a Senior Component Design Engineer for turbomachinery to lead the design and optimization of high precision components for ultra luxury vehicles. You will own the full lifecycle of turbomachinery parts, from concept and 3D CAD modelling to analysis, prototyping, testing, and release to production. Partner closely with powertrain, aerodynamics, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure performance, durability, NVH, and cost targets are met. You will champion DFM/DFA, participate in FMEAs, mentor junior engineers, and drive continuous improvement and innovation in line with Rolls Royce and BMW Group standards. Responsibilities Lead end to end design of turbomachinery components for ultra luxury vehicles Create detailed 3 D CAD models and engineering drawings to Rolls Royce/BMW standards Perform structural, thermal, and fluid dynamic analyses to meet performance targets Collaborate with powertrain, aerodynamics, manufacturing, and quality teams Apply DFM/DFA principles and support supplier industrialization Plan and support prototyping, testing, and validation of components Conduct and contribute to DFMEA/FMEA and problem solving activities Ensure compliance with safety, durability, NVH, and regulatory requirements Drive continuous improvement and innovation in turbomachinery design Mentor junior engineers and share best practices across the team Required Skills Turbomachinery design3 D CAD (e.g., CATIA, NX, Creo) Finite Element Analysis (FEA) CFD for rotating machinery Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) DFM/DFA for precision components Material selection for high performance components Powertrain and NVH fundamentals FMEA/DFMEA and root cause analysis Prototype and test planning/validation
