Job Description

As an Experimental Assembly and Test Mechanic at Rolls Royce Motor Cars, you will build, fit, and assemble prototype and low volume components for ultra luxury vehicles. You'll read and interpret complex engineering drawings, perform precision mechanical and electrical assembly, and set up and operate test rigs to validate performance, safety, and durability. You will document test results, diagnose and resolve faults, collaborate closely with engineers and craftspeople, and uphold strict quality, safety, and cleanliness standards in a bespoke manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Assemble and fit prototype and low volume mechanical components to exact specifications Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings and technical documentation Set up, operate, and maintain test rigs and equipment for performance and durability testing Record, analyze, and report test data and results accurately Diagnose faults and support root cause analysis and corrective actions Collaborate with engineers, designers, and craftspeople to refine designs and builds Perform precision measurements and inspections to verify tolerances and quality Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in line with company standards Support continuous improvement of assembly and test methods and documentation Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements Required Skills Mechanical assembly Prototype build and test Reading engineering drawings Use of precision measurement tools Test rig setup and operation Electrical and hydraulic systems basics Root cause analysis and troubleshooting Data recording and test documentation Quality control and inspection Adherence to safety procedures
