Job Description

At GPS we provide Gas Turbine Power Plant Auxiliary equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement in a short cycle, highly competitive, market. Our engineered solutions are developed to address gas path related equipment issues experienced by our customers and execute the repairs at their facility. GPS is a young company that is experiencing significant growth. In general, repair projects take place during periods when the plant is in a scheduled maintenance, or emergency outage, and typically are completed in 3-10 days working 24/7. Our customers include General Electric, Florida Power and Light, Southern Company, Entergy, Invenergy and many others. In addition to conducting repairs, GPS also provides full replacement of Inlet and exhaust duct systems including diffuser, silencers, plenums, expansion joints and related components based on original equipment specifications and drawings. GasPath Solutions is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Design Engineer. The Design Engineer is responsible for executing engineering documentation from the Sales quotation phase through site completion and customer acceptance of a project. GasPath Solution projects encompass the installation, repair, or replacement upgrade of Gas Turbine Auxiliary Equipment at the customers job site. In addition, to supporting the development of the Quality Management System. The Design Engineer will lead or provide project support with the creation and maintenance of engineering drawings and other documents required to complete the project. The Design Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager. Essential Functions include, but not limited to :
Engineering Support:
Provide Applications Engineering and Sales support during proposal development phase Mechanical Engineering support Project Execution 
Support Key Technical Skills:
Ability to create and check mechanical drawings using 3D solid modeling and CAD detailing, SolidWorks experience a plus. Ability to read and interpret 2D mechanical drawings such as Manufacturing and Erection drawings as well as customer performance specifications. Strong oral, written communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.
Additional Technical skills include:
Working knowledge of Manufacturing, Building Code and Environmental Standards Knowledge of Metal Fabrication including material selection, processing and welding Familiarity with Gas Turbine or other Power Generation equipment a plus Broad knowledge in the installation of auxiliary equipment a plus Broad knowledge in the industrial construction industry a plus Knowledge and application of Parametric Modeling a plus Experience with Finite Element Analysis a plus Proficient with MS Office Suite, SolidWorks, Autocad or similar CAD package,
Work Environment:
GPS Office, Home Office, Industrial Environments, such as
Electric Power Plants, Refineries, Chemical Plants Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or equivalent experience considered at the discretion of management. Five years - experience in mechanical or structural engineering environment Salary range: $105,000 - $125,000 per year. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, and certifications. This is initially an in-person position located in Hubbardston, MA.
