Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Mechatronics Engineer / 3D CAD Designer to join our engineering team and provide essential prototype assistance for cutting-edge product development projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering, contributing to the design, modeling, and testing of advanced mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, bringing technical expertise, creativity, and a passion for engineering excellence to help transform concepts into tangible prototypes. Paid positions are available for both experienced professionals and interns eager to develop their skills in a collaborative setting. Duties Develop detailed 3D CAD models and mechanical drawings using SolidWorks, Creo, and other CAD software to support prototype fabrication and testing. Assist in designing mechanical components and assemblies, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry standards such as ASME codes & standards. Conduct tolerance analysis and mechanical detail drafting to optimize part manufacturability and assembly efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists—to integrate systems using schematics, system design tools, and building information modeling (BIM) tools. Perform root cause analysis on prototype issues, troubleshoot mechanical failures, and implement corrective actions using tools like FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Support manufacturing processes by creating CNC machining programs, drafting mechanical details for machine design, and assisting with rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing or CNC machining. Contribute to project scheduling and management activities to ensure timely delivery of prototypes while maintaining high quality standards. Skills Proficiency in CAD software including SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent 3D modeling tools for product design. Strong mechanical engineering background with experience in mechanical drafting, machine design, and mechanical product development projects. Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, additive manufacturing, and assembly techniques. Familiarity with engineering analysis tools like FEA (Finite Element Analysis), MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, or similar systems for simulation and system design. Experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with understanding of tolerances (GD&T), schematics, mechanical drawings, and ASME standards. Ability to perform root cause analysis on mechanical issues using systematic problem-solving methods. Skills in project management including project scheduling, risk assessment, and cross-functional communication to ensure seamless collaboration across teams. Mechanical knowledge related to system design involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Arduino platforms, or quantum engineering principles is a plus. Join us if you're passionate about pushing the boundaries of technology through innovative mechanical design and prototyping! This role offers an engaging environment where your technical skills will directly impact the development of next-generation products while providing opportunities for professional growth in a vibrant team setting.
