Job Description
POSITION
Manufacturing Engineer Reports to:Manufacturing Engineering Manager Department:
Manufacturing _____________________________________________________________________________________________ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Develop and maintain standard work processes for manufacturing assembly lines. Process improvements that include the use of 'Lean' tools to drive increased manufacturing productivity, efficiency and safety. Coordinate engineering change management activities for manufacturing; including but not limited to labor routings, tooling and equipment requirements, and work instructions. Support prototype builds and pilot launches for New Product Development projects. Conduct Job Safety and Ergonomic assessments and create innovative solutions to high-risk job functions. Participate in ensuring product quality both in day-to-day assembly and overall reliability. Design jigs/fixtures that ensure materials are produced efficiently and conform to print specification. Interface with Production Engineers to ensure that best manufacturing practices, current machine capabilities, and materials are understood and used where possible. Research, justify and implement equipment and/or tooling projects.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of 'Lean Manufacturing' principles at a basic level. Ability to read blue prints at an advanced level. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Must have proven experience in performing time studies and setting routing standards. ERP system knowledge at a basic level. CAD or 3D modeling system operation knowledge at an intermediate level. Ability to think spatially and creatively at an advanced level. Knowledge of sheet metal uses and formation, sheet metal working, and sheet metal applied technology at an intermediate level.PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of refrigeration systems and applied technology at a basic level. Knowledge of electrical systems and applied technology at a basic level.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering. 3+ years of manufacturing engineering or design experience preferred.WORKING CONDITION
: General office environment with several hours daily in the manufacturing plant.Note:
