Pay varies by position and is based on multiple factors including labor market data and, depending on position, may include education, work experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and/or certifications. Additionally, Sportech takes into account the internal equity of current employees when considering compensation. Sportech's reasonable and good-faith estimate for the range of new hire compensation at the time of posting for this position is between $75,000 - $85,000 annually. Pay may also include variable compensation from time to time such as overtime for non-exempt positions, shift differential for specific shifts, and/or bonus targets (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Job Summary Responsible for the design of parts, accessories and cab systems, from concept to production, that meet (or exceed) product specifications and goals for performance, budget and time. Essential Job Functions Works within all digital tools (CAD, File Management and ERP System) to create successful design solutions. Recommends ideal component manufacturing direction to achieve overall design, performance, and cost goals. Analyzes existing and new designs to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities. Accountable to the PDP (Product Development Process) and ownership of engineering tasks within. Prepares preliminary and production sketches, prints and/or schematic diagrams and/or presentations to aid in the understanding and solution of engineering problems. Actively solicits design feedback from customers, other designers, sales, suppliers, quality engineers, continuous improvement engineers and manufacturing engineers. Analyzes field and production problems and recommends possible solutions. Performs other miscellaneous project related assignments. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (equivalent work experience may be considered). 0-8 years related design experience required (plastics and/or sheet metal preferred). Experience designing and bringing new products into mass production. Abilities Required Proficiency designing in 3D CAD Software (preferably SolidWorks and/or Creo). GD&T, FMEA and the ability to perform dimensional tolerance stack ups. Familiar with design benefits / constraints in multiple manufacturing methods. (ie: CNC, brake press, machining, injection molding, welding, etc.) Application of engineering principles to ensure product performance. Experience managing customer and vendor relationships. Demonstrated ability to implement change in a way that positively impacts overall department and company performance. Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage priorities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must excel at working in a team environment with a high level of people/interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to cross functionally drive results.
