$110K to $150K + full benefits + bonus eligibility Overview A leading North American manufacturing organization in the steel production industry is seeking an Automation Engineer to support and optimize critical mill operations. This is a hands-on, plant-focused role working directly with industrial automation systems that drive large-scale steel manufacturing processes. This position plays a key role in maintaining reliability, improving efficiency, and advancing automation capabilities within a high-volume production environment. Key Requirements (Must Have) U.S. Citizenship required Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred (or equivalent experience) Strong experience in industrial automation within manufacturing or heavy industry Hands-on knowledge of: PLC systems (Siemens and/or Allen Bradley) VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) HMIs and industrial control systems Experience with: SQL databases and reporting tools (e.g., Crystal Reports) Industrial software such as Wonderware / InTouch Understanding of Level I / Level II system integration in a manufacturing environment Ability to troubleshoot and support production-critical systems on the plant floor What You'll Do Support and maintain automation systems across steel manufacturing operations Program and troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, and process control systems Maintain and enhance HMI and graphical interface systems used in production Work with Level II and Level I system interfaces to ensure seamless plant operations Utilize data systems (SQL / reporting tools) to improve visibility and performance Identify and implement automation improvements to increase efficiency and consistency Collaborate closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams in a heavy industrial setting Additional Details This is a true manufacturing environment role (steel production / heavy industry) Day 1 benefits including medical, dental, vision, and PTO 401(k) with company match, stock purchase plan, and bonus eligibility Strong emphasis on training, technical development, and long-term career growth Relocation is available for the right candidate •If you do not have the requirements above, I will not be reaching out to you•Similar remote jobs
