Bohemia, New York Duration:
18-Month Contract Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (fully onsite)Education:
Bachelor's degree in an engineering field About the Role We are looking for a skilled and driven Manufacturing Engineer to join a high-performing aerospace manufacturing team in Bohemia, NY. This is a hands-on contract role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, technically demanding environment and is ready to make an immediate impact across production, tooling, and continuous improvement initiatives. What You'll Be Doing Define and solve technical problems across manufacturing, assembly, and testing environments Implement cost-saving and process improvement initiatives on assigned product lines Collaborate with design engineering teams to enhance the manufacturability of products Develop efficient production workflows and determine optimal sequencing of operations Prepare cost estimates for proposed projects and analyze cost factors Support facility layouts for manufacturing processes and equipment as needed Design tools, fixtures, and gauges using SolidWorks or similar software to improve manufacturing processes and address safety concerns Produce 3D-printed fixtures to support production needs Create detailed assembly work instructions using Microsoft PowerPoint Program laser printers and develop operator instructions for laser printing processes Utilize RTX Lifecycle Program Management (RLPM) for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects to develop build plans for new designs Develop and maintain production routers and bills of materials Collaborate with quality and supplier teams to resolve technical and quality issues Conduct compliance reviews to ensure conformance with customer specifications and requirements Support the project pipeline process to select, prioritize, and scope projects that increase First Pass Yield and throughput across the value stream Drive manufacturing process optimization using MRL tools such as Process Control Plans and PFMEA Integrate continuous improvement activities with broader CORE initiatives and business objectives What We're Looking For — Top Skills Strong manufacturing process and problem-solving skills Tooling, fixture, and 3D CAD design expertise (SolidWorks or similar) Cross-functional communication and NPI collaboration skills Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an engineering field Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience in fast-paced and/or highly regulated aerospace or space manufacturing environments Experience supporting machine operations, including fixture and tool design, tool life management, routing and work instructions, and familiarity with CNC programming Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams Self-starter mindset with the ability to work autonomously and lead complex manufacturing initiatives Knowledge of PFMEA, process validation, SPC, RCCA, control plans, and configuration control practices Familiarity with structured continuous improvement frameworks Preferred Qualifications Experience in an engineering, manufacturing, or production environment Hands-on experience with SolidWorks or comparable 3D modeling software Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Bohemia, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
