full-time Workflow Automation Engineer - Hybrid (Mostly Remote) - Battery Manufacturing I'm working with an advanced manufacturing organization that is investing heavily in the digital transformation of its production operations. They're looking for a Manufacturing Workflow Automation Engineer to help move shop-floor processes away from manual and code-heavy systems and into scalable digital workflows on a new, minimal-code platform. This is a hands-on Industry 4.0/smart manufacturing position sitting at the intersection of manufacturing engineering, process improvement, data collection, and software configuration. This is a contract position, likely lasting for 6 months with the potential to convert to perm. What you'll work on: Building and configuring manufacturing applications using Tulip Converting manual production and quality processes into digital workflows Creating electronic work instructions and operator-facing tools Developing dashboards and manufacturing data collection systems Improving production traceability and visibility Testing, debugging, and deploying new workflows Identifying opportunities to simplify and automate manufacturing processes Working directly with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and operations teams What we're looking for: Bachelor's in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Systems, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, or a similar technical discipline Demonstrated work experience, with exposure to manufacturing, production, or operations environments Experience with Python or other forms of programming Interest in manufacturing automation, MES, digital operations, or Industry 4.0 Strong problem-solving and communication skills Experience with Tulip would be especially valuable, but exposure to MES platforms, SQL/databases, Power BI/Tableau, ERP or quality systems, Lean/Six Sigma, or other low-code/no-code platforms are also highly relevant. This is a primarily REMOTE position but will require 1 day/week onsite in the Portland, OR area.
