Full-Time Who We Are:
We're partnering with a growing Oregon manufacturer that produces highly specialized composite components and assemblies for the aerospace, defense, space, and marine industries. This is an AS9100-certified manufacturing environment with capabilities ranging from composite layup and resin infusion to CNC machining, tooling, bonding, and finishing. They're looking for an early-career Manufacturing Engineer who wants to get hands-on, learn from experienced engineers, and have a real impact on how products are designed and built. You do NOT need previous composites experience! If you have a solid engineering foundation, enjoy solving problems, and like being close to the manufacturing floor, they are willing to teach you the composites side of the business.
What You'll Do:
Support new product and program development Help design tooling, jigs, and fixtures Review customer drawings, models, and specifications for manufacturability Use SolidWorks to create templates and design simple tools, fixtures, and composite components Develop clear visual and written work instructions for production Work directly with manufacturing to solve problems and improve processes Identify waste and opportunities for continuous improvement Assist with nonconformance investigations and corrective actions Support first article builds and related documentation Assist with AS9100 documentation and quality requirements Work alongside experienced Manufacturing, Process, and Quality Engineers while continuing to develop your technical skills The company specifically wants this engineer involved in new programs, manufacturability, work instructions, continuous improvement, first articles, and nonconformance support. Have:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering OR an Associate's degree in Engineering Technology with relevant manufacturing experience 0-3 years of engineering experience Experience with SolidWorks or comparable 3D CAD software Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Strong written and verbal communication Ability to communicate technical information clearly to production teams Interest in working hands-on with manufacturing and continuous improvement Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma, AS9100, or tooling/fixture design is a plus Composites experience is a plus, NOT a requirement The sweet spot here is someone early in their engineering career who has the fundamentals and wants an opportunity to learn, collaborate, solve problems, and grow into a well-rounded Manufacturing Engineer.
