Composite Design Engineer (CATIA / 3DEXPERIENCE)
Experience Level:
Intermediate (5+ years) About the Role We're seeking a Composite Design Engineer to design and develop advanced composite structures using 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA Composites Part Design (CPD) . This role focuses on translating design intent into manufacturable composite solutions while collaborating closely with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain partners. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on composites expert who enjoys working across the full design‑to‑production lifecycle. What You'll Do Design and develop 3D composite structures using 3DEXPERIENCE
CATIA CPD
Select and apply the most effective CPD methodologies based on manufacturing constraints Apply deep knowledge of composite materials and properties to drive design decisions Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineers, designers, fabricators, and suppliers Support parts through manufacturing and production ramp‑up Follow and contribute to design review, change management, and process improvement initiatives Implement design updates to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations Review, validate, and approve designs for production release Prepare vendor design packages , including drawings, presentations, and neutral CAD formats, to support Supply Chain Solve problems independently in complex technical environments Composite Manufacturing Experience Hands‑on or applied knowledge of: Hand lay‑up Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) Pre‑preg manufacturing Vacuum bagging Autoclave processes Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent with strong mechanical design focus) 5+ years of composite structures design experience (aerospace strongly preferred) Strong experience with
CATIA V6 / 3DEXPERIENCE
(ENOVIA a plus) Experience designing composite and hybrid composite/metallic structures Working knowledge of GD&T Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment Nice to Have Experience with self‑stiffened skins, frames, and sandwich structures Background in production or R D environments Familiarity with composite testing and certification processes Why This Role? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
