The Design Engineer is key in coordinating the resources and activities required to support new designs, design reviews, detailed analysis, and work instructions to produce top of the line quality products that meet customer requirements. Taking direction from Customers, this role designs 3-D CAD drawings of parts and assemblies to be used by procurement and engineering teams for creating the final build. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Develop appealing 3-dimensional CAD models from written and verbal customer specifications along with related drawings and other documentation. Communicate effectively with customers throughout the design cycle, including the delivery of engaging presentations. Manage the development and implementation of new designs through design analysis, risk mitigation,review of safety factors & tolerance stack-ups, reliability tools, schedules, and design reviews. Collaborate with the Systems Engineer and program team to ensure designs meet technical and program requirements. Verify that designs have adequate safety factors and acceptable tolerance stack-ups prior to releasing them to production. Review and approve documentation for transition from prototype to production. Collaborate closely with customers to ensure products perform as expected and that they integrate seamlessly into the end platform. Work with customers to rework designs to ensure production suitability. Develop and maintain standard engineering methods and tools used to develop new designs. Take accountability for design activities from concept through detail design to production release. Provide hands-on engineering support to troubleshoot and diagnose non-performing products. Support the failure analysis process providing input and final review of all reports. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technician, Computer Graphics Technician, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. 5 years of experience in systems, designing, and testing within the Aerospace industry. Proficiency with Solidworks and/or NX. Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Strong familiarity with aerospace design and documentation standards. Knowledge of common aerospace materials, fabrication processes, finishes, etc. Knowledge of proper methods of documentation and notation Desired Characteristics Working knowledge of key aerospace technical disciplines including mechanical design, materials, modeling/documentation, structural analysis, thermal fluid sciences, electrical systems, system controls, embedded controls, development testing and analysis, qualification analysis and testing. Understanding of aerospace requirements management methodologies and processes - traceability, verification, and validation. Excellent written and verbal communication. Excellent interpersonal relationship building both internally and externally. Functional understanding of major aircraft systems: environmental control systems, powerplant, electrical, hydraulics, controls, avionics, power generation, and structures. Growth mindset. The base pay range for this position is $95,000.00 - 140,000.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on April 7, 2026.
