Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field and 8 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Manufacturing Engineer -related occupation. Alternatively, will accept a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field, and 6 years of experience in the job offered or in a Manufacturing Engineer-related occupation. Position requires 6 years of experience in the following: Production Failure Analysis and Root Cause Analysis or Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) Management Hardware Product Development Lifecycle Management or New Product Introduction (NPI) Management Gather and analyze manufacturing or field data within the data center environment to extract actionable insights and continuous improvement opportunities. Manufacturing Process Engineering or Manufacturing Assembly Process Development Monitor, review and present product performance data and metrics to stakeholders in a concise and clear way that enables data-driven decision making. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $144,000.00 - $209,000.00 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Position reports to the Google Austin, Texas office & may allow for a hybrid schedule as per Google policy. Responsibilities Drive the design, optimization, and qualification of complex manufacturing processes, ensuring all tooling, software, and documentation are delivered on time and within budget Lead Design for Excellence (DfX) initiatives for complex components, influencing technical designs to improve manufacturability, cost, quality, and overall availability and champion the Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process by directing investigations into technical failures and guiding teams to effectively apply analytical principles Implement robust statistical process controls by defining critical parameters, analyzing data to identify improvement opportunities, and maintaining essential manufacturing equipment Develop comprehensive manufacturing strategies, including partner selection and the integration of advanced technologies, to enhance production efficiency and supply continuity Steer manufacturing test development for new and existing product designs, driving improvements to test platforms and software solutions to ensure high-quality releases
