Summary:
This role will be working on projects to install new equipment or modify current equipment. Additionally, this role coordinates and/or oversees tasks related to equipment selection, early design, late design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning/ramp-up assistance.
Responsibilities:
Provide engineering design for assigned projects including machine specification, sizing and selection, mechanical part, assembly and schematic drawings, layout drawings, components specification, sizing and selection, bill of materials and complete machine documentation package for life of machine. Perform feasibility analyses for functional requirements; assess solutions based on cost, timelines, quality, risks, and functionality. Carry out integration studies with design engineering teams to ensure manufacturability. Handle change requests in accordance with the procedures in place. Follow the established procedures (risk analyses, FMEA, design reviews, quality planning, handling of non-conformities, etc.) and the quality system. Travel as required Perform other duties as needed Qualifications Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering Education with the following specialties preferred: Manufacturing, Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Industrial. 3 years of experience in an engineering role working with manufacturing equipment and processes Experience with 3D design using Solidworks is required Experience with mechanical design standards; ASME, ANSI, ISO, etc. Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, piping and fitting is required. Experience with lifting devices, cranes, jibs, below the hook devices and end-effectors. Knowledgeable in manufacturing skills and concepts (cycle time analysis, quality control, equipment efficiency, equipment selection, return on investment).
