- Mount Juliet, TN 37122 The role is responsible for managing the installation and setup of fabrication equipment, including punch/laser machines, press brakes, epoxy and paint lines, and related manufacturing equipment. The position will coordinate with cross-functional teams such as Safety & Environment, Facilities, Maintenance, Production, and Quality to ensure equipment and production processes are implemented on schedule. The role will also oversee quality performance, identify process improvement opportunities, manage production quality issues, and support continuous improvement and quality system initiatives
Job Responsibilities:
Manage projects related to the installation and setup of fabrication equipment, including punch/laser machines, press brakes, epoxy lines, paint lines, and related equipment. Coordinate activities across Safety & Environment, Facilities, Maintenance, Production, Quality, and other stakeholders to ensure timely equipment implementation. Monitor, analyze, and report key quality metrics for production lines. Analyze manufacturing and quality data to identify process improvement opportunities. Manage quality-related production disruptions, alerts, and process issues. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for product and process defects, including customer complaints. Lead PFMEA activities and ensure Process Control Plans are developed and effectively implemented. Lead continuous improvement initiatives involving 5S, SPS, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma. Support the implementation and adoption of digital quality tools. Coordinate the identification, review, and approval of production deviations. Oversee surveillance testing requirements for assigned product lines. Maintain and continuously improve quality systems based on
ISO 9000
standards. Conduct internal process and quality audits. Identify and implement manufacturing and quality best practices. Coach, mentor, and provide technical guidance to Quality Team members. Present technical and quality-related information to leadership and customers.
Skills:
Experience with fabrication equipment, including: Punch/Laser machines Press brakes Paint lines Epoxy lines Punch/Laser machines Press brakes Paint lines Epoxy lines Strong background in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a combination of these areas. Experience with manufacturing processes, production quality, and process improvement. Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow Mapping. Experience with 8D problem solving, including: 5 Why Fishbone/Ishikawa Root Cause Analysis Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) 5 Why Fishbone/Ishikawa Root Cause Analysis Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Experience with 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement. Experience with statistical methods and quality data analysis. Experience conducting process and quality audits. Knowledge of ISO 9000/ISO-based quality systems. Experience implementing or using digital quality tools. Project management experience involving equipment installation, manufacturing processes, or production-line implementation. Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and manage cross-functional activities. Ability to lead quality and continuous improvement projects. Strong coaching and mentoring abilities. Ability to present technical information to leadership, customers, and cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field
