Amarillo, TX Full-Time Are you a Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Technician, Industrial Maintenance Technician, or someone with strong mechanical skills? Your experience may transfer to CNC machining. Amarillo Gear Company is hiring CNC Machinists and is specifically interested in candidates with strong mechanical backgrounds, even if they have little or no direct CNC machining experience. The position typically requires 0-2 years of experience and works under close supervision. Your Skills May Transfer Amarillo Gear is looking for candidates with experience or skills such as: Using precision measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers Reading blueprints, plans, technical specifications, or work orders Mechanical troubleshooting and problem solving Working accurately with measurements and close tolerances Understanding mechanical systems and components Operating tools, machinery, or industrial equipment Engine machining, block boring, head resurfacing, or similar precision work Direct CNC experience is not the only experience that may qualify you. Candidates with backgrounds in diesel technology, automotive repair, heavy equipment repair, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, and other hands-on mechanical fields are encouraged to apply. About the Job CNC Machinists produce parts using Computer Numerical Control (CNC) lathe machines. The job includes reading work orders, blueprints, engineering plans and specifications, working with machining parameters, and monitoring the machine to make sure parts are produced accurately.
