Controls Engineer (TIA Portal & Fanuc Robot)

Contract (W2) Job Description Worked on Siemens TIA Portal for PLC logic development, sequencing, interlocks, startup, troubleshooting, and fault handling in conveyor and manufacturing systems at Emerson, CPS Energy, and TCS. Hands-on experience with S7-1200 and S7-1500 PLCs. Worked on WinCC for HMI monitoring, operator interface screens, alarms, diagnostics, and troubleshooting support in industrial automation environments. Experience supporting live production systems and startup activities. Integrated FANUC robots with PLC-controlled conveyor and automation systems. Worked on robot handshaking, sequencing, safety interaction, and automated material handling applications at Emerson and CPS Energy. Basic exposure to robotic integration and troubleshooting. Basic understanding and exposure to Ignition platform for industrial monitoring and SCADA applications. No major project implementation experience yet. Integrated Cognex and Keyence vision systems with PLCs for automated inspection and production line applications. Worked on sensor communication, inspection verification, and troubleshooting during commissioning and production support. Worked on fail-safe conditions, interlocks, emergency stop logic, and safe startup/shutdown sequences in conveyor and automated manufacturing systems. Supported commissioning and validation activities to ensure safe operation. Developed and modified PLC safety-related logic including fault recovery routines, interlocks, permissives, and sequencing validation in automated systems using Siemens TIA Portal and Studio 5000. Led commissioning activities including I/O checkout, loop testing, startup support, troubleshooting, and coordination with maintenance, electrical, and mechanical teams during installation and production support activities .
